Meet Laura! Our bubbly and vibrant Visual Merchandiser and Luxury Retail Consultant.
In the first of our 'A Day In The Life' series, Laura chats to us about her role and what she loves most about her job.
How did you first get into the jewellery industry?
“In 2008 I got my first part-time job in a fashion jewellers. Since then, I’ve stayed within the industry working my way up through different positions from Sales, to Management and Visual Merchandising.”
How long have you worked with Jack Murphy Jewellers?
“I started working in Jack Murphy Jewellers in 2017. It was a huge move for me but by far the best decision I have made. It’s a really wonderful place to work and the team are like family!”
What does your role at Jack Murphy Jewellers involve?
“My role is focused on enhancing the customer experience in-store and offering a world-class service. Whether that be through creating eye-catching visual displays or assisting customers in finding the perfect gift or piece of jewellery for themselves.”
Favourite part of your job?
“I love my customers. Jewellery purchases are usually rather sentimental and have lots of meaning for our customers. I love that I am able to share in these magical moments! Whether it’s a Mum choosing an 18th birthday present for her Daughter, to a colleague choosing a retirement gift for a co-worker or a soon-to-be married couple choosing their wedding rings.”
What is your go-to piece of jewellery?
“My current favourite piece of jewellery is a sapphire and diamond ring I purchased when my daughter was born. When I returned to Jack Murphy Jewellers after maternity leave, I knew it was just the perfect piece for me and I decided to treat myself!”
Finally, something we’d never guess about you?
“I have a massive extended family. You’d never believe it but I have over one hundred 1st and 2nd cousins, some of whom are my very best friends!”
