We caught up with Annie and Gavin as they prepare to celebrate one whole year as Mr and Mrs Coogan, to give you an insight into their fabulous pearl themed wedding day.
This love story started back when the couple were 17 and after 7 years together Gavin proposed in the gorgeous Lough Erne Resort back in January 2022. Annie explains that this came after the birth of their beautiful baby boy Charlie in May 2021 and that she “absolutely loved” her ring.
“Gavin couldn’t have found Jack Murphy Jewellers more helpful with picking my engagement ring, I couldn’t have picked better myself. We headed back to Jack Murphys for our wedding rings and the experience and staff is second to none. Both of us were quite fussy in what we wanted and had tried on lots of different rings and this was no issue at all. We both then found rings we loved.”
Gavin and Annie got married in Ballymagarvey Village in Co.Meath, Annie explained to us how she loved pearls from a young age and knew that her wedding had to be centred around this theme.
She truly made her dream a reality as this bride wore not one, but two pearl incrusted gowns on her wedding day, with a fabulous princess ball gown for her church ceremony and reception, while surprised her guest with a sleek full length party dress for the evening. A surprise dance routine may also have grabbed the guest attention, as the bride and her bridesmaids took to the dance floor.
The bridesmaids looked stunning in white tull midi dresses with pearl straps and pearl waistbands, they even had matching pearl handbags!! Love!! Who couldn’t forget the CAKE… crafted by the very talented Primrose Lane, this three-tiered ivory cake was of course adorned with pearls too. Annie also shared with us the fabulous news, as the couple have recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their family and they named her Pearl!
We asked Annie to tell us what her favourite moment of her big day was… although it was difficult to choose just one, she told us that it was …
“Walking down the aisle alongside my mum, and seeing Gavin standing at the top of the aisle, emotions were so high and I knew I was about to marry the love of my life and my best friend.”
Annie’s Words Of Wisdom
“My advice to any bride-to-be would to be just enjoy the process, don’t get stressed about the details because it will all work out in the end and the most important thing is the love between you both and sharing that with your friends and family. Pick a theme or a colour and centre everything around that. Invest on a good photographer and videographer because it’s so special to look back on all the pictures and your wedding video for years to come.”
