Celebrating Rachel Duffy: A Special Cover Collaboration for Jack Murphy Jewellers

Jack Murphy Jewellers celebrates its latest Ulster Tatler front cover collaboration with Rachel Duffy, winner of The Traitors UK Series 4. Wearing jewellery from Jack Murphy Jewellers, Rachel stars on the magazine’s October cover, bringing together local pride, personal success and fine jewellery.

The October cover celebrates Rachel’s remarkable year and her enduring connection to Newry. Inside, she shares why supporting local remains so important to her and what she hopes the future will bring.

Our connection with Rachel began long before her Traitors win. Already a valued customer and supporter of our family business, she has continued to champion Jack Murphy Jewellers throughout an extraordinary year. From The Traitors: Uncloaked to the Liverpool FC Foundation Gala Ball, the BAFTAs and the NTAs, we are honoured that Rachel has taken us on this exciting journey with her, choosing our jewellery for so many memorable occasions.

Seeing our pieces worn on those stages has been a proud moment for our team. Having them worn by someone who shares our Newry roots makes it all the more meaningful.

Inside the October issue, Rachel joins Jack Murphy Jewellers Managing Director Gemma Murphy for “Celebrating Home, Success & Something Special”, a conversation about supporting local, treasured jewellery and what comes next.

Reflecting on the support she received throughout her Traitors journey, Rachel shared:

“When I was on the show, the support I received from home was incredibly heart-warming. It came from my family, the local community and the businesses that helped me after the show. I believe that when support is shown to you, it is only right to give that support back.”

That appreciation for home sits at the heart of this collaboration. As a second-generation family jewellers established in Newry in 1972, we have experienced the importance of local support throughout our own story.

Gemma explained:

“For me, that is what championing local is all about. It is using whatever platform you have to support the people and businesses around you. As a business, we try to do the same through our charitable partnerships, community initiatives and collaborations with other local businesses.”

The interview also explores the personal stories behind the jewellery Rachel and Gemma treasure most. For Rachel, a ring inherited from her late mother, with gemstones spelling the word “dearest”, carries a deeply meaningful connection. For Gemma, a Claddagh ring originally given to her sister Tina on her 16th birthday, then passed to Gemma when she turned 16, represents a family tradition she hopes to continue with her daughter, Aoife.

These stories reflect something central to Jack Murphy Jewellers: the meaning a piece gathers through the people who wear it, the milestones it marks and the memories it holds.

Looking ahead, Rachel shares her ambition to become a published author, having signed with a literary agent in London for her young adult fantasy novel inspired by the local area. Meanwhile, our family business is preparing for two special milestones in 2027: 55 years of Jack Murphy Jewellers in Newry and Jack’s 70 years in the jewellery trade.

There is much to look forward to, but a shared connection to home remains at the heart of both journeys.

As Rachel puts it:

“Home inspired my story, and home supported me throughout my entire Traitors journey, before, during and after the show. Wherever this journey takes me, I will always come home to Newry.”
