Gemma Murphy of Jack Murphy Jewellers, was celebrated for her outstanding achievements at the Women in Business Awards held on the eve of International Women’s Day in Belfast’s Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Having received the accolade of “Best Small Business” at the prestigious Awards which celebrates Northern Ireland’s exceptional businesswomen.

Hosted by Television Presenter Pamela Ballantine, the 12th Annual Women in Business Awards ceremony brought together female entrepreneurs and businesswomen from all sectors to recognise, reward and celebrate the very best local talent at the only ceremony of its kind in Northern Ireland.
Sponsored by Danske Bank, the award for “Best Small Business” recognises an outstanding female-led small business based in Northern Ireland which demonstrates high level service, is profitable and is innovative in its thinking. This business may be a partnership, a social enterprise or a small private sector company with a maximum of 25 employees.
The judges commented that the winning business demonstrated substantial growth and expansion, innovative diversification and creative marketing techniques. They further pointed out that the winner and the business are clearly not afraid to take risks.
