A December wedding for Aoife and Calvin; surrounded by their family and friends as they celebrate their love for one another.
Here we chat with the newly married Aoife, as she shares her #JMJLOVESTORY with us…
Firstly, we’ll take it back to the beginning of your exciting journey together. We’d love to hear about your engagement story...️
“Calvin and I had booked to go to Redcastle Hotel in Moville just after Christmas as our gifts to one another which included going to the spa for the day. On the road up I could tell he wasn’t himself and didn’t question any further, the ring was in the car door pocket the whole time! We checked-in and got ready for the spa; then when I turned around, he was on one knee with a Jack Murphy Jewellers purple ring box. I don’t recall even saying yes, I just squealed and put the ring on!”
After much planning and preparation, when and where did you and Calvin get married?
“We had our wedding in the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown on Thursday 30th December last year. It was absolutely superb - everything went perfectly, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. All of our guests were looked after so well by the hotel, so we had nothing to worry about and could just enjoy our day.”
We’re sure there’s too many to count, but what is your favourite moment from the day?
“There are definitely way too many to count… walking out of the chapel after getting married was definitely our favourite moment as we knew it was time to let the hair down! But close second, was when we had an undercover singer, who posed as a waiter, trip in the middle of the floor sending cutlery crashing everywhere. Then, seeing everyone’s reaction when he started to sing was priceless!”

Last but not least, what advice would you share with newly engaged couples?
“Try to organise the major things as soon as you set a date in order to get the makeup artist, band and so on, that you want - then the smaller stuff will all fall into place. The main thing is to enjoy it, Calvin and I never left the dance floor! There were plenty of stressful moments on the lead up but the whole day ended up absolutely perfect.”
