A Sparkling Start to Summer: A Busy Few Weeks at Jack Murphy Jewellers

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks here at Jack Murphy Jewellers, filled with exciting events, industry insights, and proud moments for our team. As always, we’re grateful for the opportunities to connect, celebrate, and continue growing both as individuals and as a business. Here's a look at what we've been up to lately:

📸 Behind the Scenes in Belfast

We kicked things off with an exciting photoshoot in Belfast, capturing some truly stunning shots of our latest jewellery collections. The city’s vibrant energy and urban charm made the perfect backdrop — and we were thrilled to have Lucy Spratt, the beautiful face of Jack Murphy Jewellers, front and centre for the shoot.

Even a bit of classic Irish rain didn’t stop us! Spirits stayed high as we powered through the drizzle, helped along by a caffeine boost from our friends at Neighbourhood Coffee, who also made a stylish appearance in the shoot.

It was a fun, creative day with an amazing team — and the results are starting to filter out on our socials as we speak. Keep an eye out for a first look at some truly gorgeous moments!

🍸 A Toast to Canal Court Hotel & Spa’s 1742 Cocktail Lounge

We were honoured to celebrate the fabulous launch of the Canal Court Hotel & Spa’s New 1742 Cocktail Lounge — a beautifully designed space bringing modern flair and classic charm to the heart of Newry. It was a pleasure to join the festivities and support a fellow local business.

✈️ Director Gemma Heads to Salisbury & Winchester

Earlier this month, our Director, Gemma Murphy, travelled to Salisbury and Winchester to take part in a special industry knowledge-sharing event. As the driving force behind the evolution and growth of Jack Murphy Jewellers, Gemma spent time connecting with fellow jewellers, learning from shared experiences, and exploring new ideas to bring back to the business.

The trip was a brilliant opportunity to engage with peers, stay ahead of industry trends, and continue building on the strong foundations Jack and Pat laid over five decades ago.

💍 25 Years of Weddings at Darver Castle

Our Marketing Team had the pleasure of attending a special supplier event marking 25 years of weddings at Darver Castle. It was a beautiful celebration of love, history, and the many incredible couples who’ve said "I do" in such a magical setting. We’re so proud to have been part of so many special moments there over the years.

👩💼 Women in Business: “You’ve Got This”

Our Director, Gemma, along with Charlotte and Tara from our Marketing Team, recently attended the Women in Business Annual All-Island Female Entrepreneurs Conference“You’ve Got This” — and what a day it was!

The event featured an incredible line-up of speakers who truly inspired and energised us. From Sara Davies, entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star, to Alyson Hogg, Founder and CEO of Vita Liberata, the room was packed with powerhouse women sharing wisdom, stories, and hard-earned advice. The day was hosted by none other than Caroline O’Neill (Digg Mama) — someone we’ve had the pleasure of knowing and always love seeing in action.

There were so many takeaways — both personal and professional — and we left feeling motivated, focused, and incredibly proud to be part of a community that champions and uplifts women in business.

🎤 Charlotte Takes the Stage at NI Digital Marketing Conference

We’re incredibly proud of our Marketing Manager, Charlotte, who recently joined a panel of inspiring local leaders at the Newry Chamber NI Digital Marketing Conference — a standout moment for the team!

Charlotte shared the stage with some truly impressive experts:

  • Neil Cole, Global Head of Risk Intelligence at TikTok and Co-founder of Nine Squared Coffee
  • Lee Quinn, Owner of LM Hair & Beauty, who has grown a dedicated Instagram following of over 117k
  • Gráinne McCoy, Owner of Give Us Beauty, a standout contestant on The Apprentice Series 12 with a loyal Instagram following of 133k

Together, they explored the latest in digital marketing, brand storytelling, and building authentic connections with audiences. Charlotte’s insights and experience perfectly complemented those of her fellow panellist’s, making for a dynamic and engaging discussion.

It was a proud moment to see her represent Jack Murphy Jewellers alongside such talented peers.

💬 Supporting Bolster Community

We were honoured to attend the launch of Bolster Community’s “Real Life – Real Stories” report — a powerful and moving event that highlighted the vital work this local organisation does across Newry and beyond.

Bolster Community offers practical, emotional, and therapeutic support to people of all ages, including families, children and young adults of mixed ability, and older members of the community. From coordinating the Newry & Mourne Family Support Hub, to running Ability services and the Clover Club for seniors, their reach is deep and impactful. Their social enterprise, Acorn, creates meaningful opportunities for young adults of mixed ability — with every handcrafted product helping to fund essential services.

At Jack Murphy Jewellers, we’re proud to support this incredible organisation as a stockist of the exclusive Bridal Bouquet candle — a beautiful scent unique to us, handcrafted by Bolster’s Acorn team. It's available in-store and online, and makes the perfect engagement or bridal gift with a purpose.

By supporting Bolster, you’re not just buying a candle — you’re helping light up lives across our community. Available to purchase here.
