Jack Murphy Jewellers has won one of Retail Jeweller's coveted Inspiring Independent Awards.
Designed to recognise the achievements of independent businesses from across the UK and Ireland, operating in the jewellery and watch sector, the winners of Retail Jeweller's Inspiring Independents Awards were revealed on the 17th October at a day of celebration and networking held at Park Plaza, Riverbank, London.
Jack Murphy Jewellers won the Best Retailer in Ireland and Scotland.
Jack Murphy Jewellers business partner Gemma Murphy said: "I'm extremely proud to be listed in Retail Jewellers Top 100 Independent Businesses for the first time, and to have taken home the award for Best Retail Business in Scotland and Ireland! Thank you to our great team for making Jack Murphy Jewellers such a success and I look forward to sharing many more successes with you all in the near future as we expand the business."
With five targeted categories, plus awards for the best independent in each region of the UK, the event thoroughly covers the achievements of the entire independent jewellery industry, from Best Customer Experience to Independent Marketing Campaign of the Year.
Retail Jeweller editor Ruth Faulkner said: “Since its inception in 2014, Inspiring Independents has grown to become one of the most important events in the industry’s calendar because of its recognition of the healthy independent sector we are still fortunate enough to have in this trade.
“In so many other industries, independent retailers from grocers to opticians and off licenses to pharmacies have disappeared from our high street, subsumed by larger chains, franchises or symbol groups.
“However, in jewellery, independent family businesses are what makes our sector so unique and it is important to recognise the hard work and passion of these businesses and the people who work in them.
“Yes, the high street is a challenging place to be at the minute, but we still have much to be proud of and to celebrate and I would like to thank each and every independent jewellery retailer for everything they do to keep our high streets diverse places to shop.”
